Oh, how I love it when an architect is allowed to make something special out of what normally would be an anonymously shaped structure hidden out of sight. The architects J. Mayer H. must have been thrilled to be given such an assignment.
I love these Fred-Flinstone-Bedrock-look of these structures.
These pictures are part of a system of 20 reststops in Georgia (the country, not the state ;-) on a new important highway.

Today’s Google Doodle about Keith Harrings 54th birthday (if he would still be alive) reminded me again about how much I loved his work as a child.
Without knowing any of the political messages, or his sickness or anything about graffiti artwork (other then I saw around me) I just loved his work. The images where simple, funny and clear.
An icon of the 80s, but with a timeless message!

Denmark not only has Legoland, but also these awesome public playgrounds! Makes me want to be a kid all over again! Now I have to set all my hopes on my kids when they need adult guidance on these playgrounds…

The best subway map for Amsterdam! Including the “soon” to be opened Noord-Zuid Lijn. Designed by Eric Hammink (more of his work can be found here).
Fantastic design and showing of the shape of Amsterdam.

Recreating the Big Bang…
…or a black hole, or discovering the GOD Particle, or finding elements that can move faster than light.
Whatever it is they are trying to do there at CERN underground make sure you look good doing it is what they must have thought. These images from 2012 are beautiful by itself, but the machinery is unimaginably complex and beautiful at the same time. I hope some aliens will give us props for this one day!

Combine the cool use of colors in this Favela in Sao Paulo with this Color chart (click to enlarge):
And you know exactly where the babies cry, where they are hungry and where the men like to hang out!
We need more color in this world!

Panic Room is what this room in a hotel in Marseille is called. Probably because it is possible that when you wake up after a long night of drinking you think one half of your brain is dead. It does mess with your mind…
I wouldn’t want to sleep in it (probably), but you can also try one of the other six themed rooms created by artists. The hotel website: www.auvieuxpanier.com

These pictures about a Sun City retirement colony somewhere in the southwest of the US are just surreal. The settings, the people, the colors…
But, I guess it’s better than sitting in some dark retirement home alone waiting for family to come visit.
